National Rankings Nov. 5, 2023

WE'RE NUMBER ONE

106

  1. Traditionally, lots of freshmen means lots of fluctuation as you get a little more chaos.
  2. Right now, Bachmann holds the top spot.
  3. Villasenor doesn’t get knocked for medically forfeiting.
  4. Rocco Hayes makes big jump.
  5. Correll won the preseason nationals.
  6. Deputy over Witt over Sontz over Seacrist over Deputy is a classic head to head extravaganza.

113

  1. Kenny the world champ wasn’t at Super 32 but still gets nod.
  2. Seidel with impressive run as part of impressive career.
  3. Titan Friederichs with big move up the board.
  4. Motyka over Friederichs over Garcia over Motyka.
  5. Lots of Iowa in these lower weights.
  6. Unle won Preseason Nationals.

120

  1. Knox on a roll since last year’s Super 32 finals.
  2. Oklahoma kids haven’t been so busy through the Summer, but keep top 5 spots.
  3. Louie Gill with recent head to heads over Sidun and Mauger.
  4. Not sure why Campbell flies under the radar but Wisconsin state champ just picked up win over Haakon Peterson.
  5. Borge is a freshman phenom with 1 point loss to Rivera and 1 match from the podium.
  6. Dekraker, Mills, and Rodriguez could probably be in any order. I gave preference to Dekraker’s body of work.

126

  1. I just went ahead and made the adjustment with Blaze at #1 after Clarion
  2. Forrest with crazy busy off-season and impressive wins at Who’s #1 and Super 32.
  3. DeJesus with massive Super 32 performance.
  4. Mendoza up, might take a little to get settled. Still top 10.
  5. I’d say there’s not a ton separating 4-25. Could be volatile weight all year.

132

  1. Bassett wins loaded Super 32 bracket.
  2. Vega picked up head to head over Davino.
  3. I get body of work argument to keep Davino 2, but you could use it to keep him 1.
  4. I feel Gorman and Parkins have been in every big event I’ve looked at.
  5. Layne Kleimann is the big mover here.
  6. Brady won Preseason Nationals.

138

  1. Zepeda and Valencia have one of the best rivalries in the sport.
  2. Shaw was one of most impressive from Super 32.
  3. Lots of turbulence between 14 and 25.
  4. Minnesota all through here.
  5. Outside Shaw, Tyler Guerra on the move up.

144

  1. Manville has done enough to keep #1 spot.
  2. Miller’s impressive Super 32 championship moves him up.
  3. Lots of head to heads that line up nicely for now.
  4. Amato looks every bit like one of the best incoming freshmen.
  5. Robinson and Olivarez won Preseason Nationals.

150

  1. Duke is hurt but as far as I know, which isn’t very far, he should be competing this season.
  2. Rath vs Gaj would be AAA state champ vs state champ.
  3. Routledge climbs with Super 32 finals appearance.
  4. If this is how it plays out, will be crazy tough in the state of CA.

157

  1. Without Sealey in the field, Lockett held serve with Super 32 title.
  2. Joseph Antonio has arrived. Massive performance.
  3. Dylan Pile a big mover after Super 32 finish.

165

  1. I don’t think anyone down to Chapman ending the season #1 would surprise me, this is volatile and exciting.
  2. Araujo was a surprise champion at Super 32, picking up 3 top 10 wins.
  3. Branson John with a huge move into the top 25.

175

  1. Ferrari beat Eise at Who’s #1 and that’s holding steady since then.
  2. With so many from the top 10 not at Super 32, results could only influence so much.
  3. Burton bumps ahead of Han-Lindemeyer based on Super 32 finals.
  4. Lots of Georgia represented here.

190

  1. Sinclair held his top spot with wins over Lawrence, Hogan, and Ziola.
  2. Tompkins flipped outcome in rematch with Ludington.
  3. I don’t know if Vaughn Spencer was headed for a state title, but prior to the injury, he looked formidable.
  4. Christiansen took a couple upsets but body of work keeps him top 20.
  5. Borelli and Glover move in, LaValle moves out for now.

215

  1. Cody Merrill might be the best wrestler in the country pound for pound but he just doesn’t compete much.
  2. Another weight with fewer top 10 guys at Super 32 so not a lot of fluctuation up top.
  3. Anthony Harris is the big mover with Super 32 title.
  4. I feel like half this list could be different in 2 months.

285

  1. Hopke has been seemingly everywhere – and winning – but Super 32.
  2. Johnson had been #1 since head to head over Neves. Dropping to 2 is more about what Hopke has done.
  3. Sahakian won tight battle with Herrera for CA heavyweight bragging rights.
  4. Lots of PA here. Which I suppose is true for a lot of weights.
